Call to Order—Meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. Villela. 2. Roll Call and Excused Absences—Members Present: Mr. Villela, Ms. Womack, Ms. Casey,Ms. Kearns, Mr. Delgado, Ms. Cleary, and Ms. Meadows; Members Absent: Mr. Hicks. Mr. Delgado made the motion to excuse the absence of Mr. Hicks. Motion was seconded by Ms. Kearns. For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 6 to 0. 3. Moment of Silence/Invocation—Mr. Villela ask for a Moment of Silence. 4. Pledge of Allegiance—All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 5. Citizens to be Heard This is the only time during the meeting that a citizen can address the Cibolo Historic Committee. It is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the Committee on any issue to include agenda items. All visitors wishing to speak must fill out the Sign-In Roster prior to the start of the meeting. The Cibolo Historic Committee may not debate any non-agenda issue, nor may any action be taken on any non- agenda issue at this time, however, the Committee may present any factual response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion — JC-0169) (Limit of three minutes each.) All remarks shall be addressed to the Committee as a body, and not to any individual member thereof. Any person making personal, impertinent, or slanderous remarks while addressing the Cibolo Historic Committee may be requested to leave the meeting. No citizens signed up to be heard. 6. Consent Aizenda A. Approval of minutes of the May 13, 2019 Historic Committee Meeting. Ms. Womack made the motion to approve the consent agenda. Motion was seconded by Ms. Cleary. For: All; Against:None. Motion carried 6 to 0. 7. Discussion/Action A. Discussion of proposed projects and/or plans for the committee. Ms. Kearns briefed the committee that she spoke at Citizens to Heard at the Council Meeting on May 28th and informed the council that the Historic Committee had taken a tour of the Old School House and there were a few items they would like to see preserved. These are: 1. Keep original ceiling threw out building—bead board 2. Keep original staircase and wood steps—restore back 3. Keep stone wall in back part of the property outside 4. Keep old doors and transit windows above the doors—restore back to glass none painted 5. Would be good to restore wood floors if possible. Mr. Villela briefed the committee that he spoke at the Town Hall Meeting on June 5th. All the committee, commissions and boards gave a brief overview of the purpose of their committee and what they are doing and how to become a member. Mr. Villela stated that he had created a Facebook page for the Historic Committee. Ms. Meadows volunteered to be an admin for the page. Before the group goes in further with this page the City Secretary will make sure the City has no objection to the group having their own page as they are a city committee. The group talked about guest speakers. Several names were mention to come and speak to the group(Mr. Sipell, Mr. Borgfeld and Mr. Dean Wietz from the Schertz Historic Committee). Ms. Kearns stated she would see if Mr. Sipell would be available to speak at the next meeting scheduled for July 8th. The group talked about events they may get involved in to get information out on what there committee is about. Ms. Womack had prepared a list of possibilities to emphasize Cibolo History. No one else sent any suggestions to the City Secretary so Ms. Cimics will type this list out and forward to all committee members. Committee will discuss at next meeting. A pamphlet that another city has done for their history museum was looked at by the members. Ms. Casey had a lot of good suggestions on a handout we could do at Cibolofest on history of some of the old buildings in Cibolo. Group will email Ms. Cimics with buildings by June 19th. Ms. Meadows spoke that she had received some old pictures from Mr. Hetzel and will bring them to the next meeting. She also has been in contact with someone on Facebook that posted they had some old items from the old school house. She has kept in contact as they are both Clemens alumni. Will bring more information as she receives it. 8. Future agenda items and dates—Possible speaker. 9. Adjournment—Motion was made by Ms. Kearns to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. Motion was seconded by Ms. Womack. For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 6 to 0.
