Min Historic 09/09/2019 4 Or C/A � O "CIN OF CHOICE" HISTORIC COMMITTEE MEETING City of Cibolo 200 S. Main Street September 9,2019 6:30-8:30 PM MINUTES 1. Call to Order—Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Mr. Villela 2. Roll Call and Excused Absences—Members Present: Mr. Villela, Ms. Meadows,Ms. Womack, Ms. Kearns,Ms. Cleary, Mr. Delgado, Ms. Casey and Mr. Hicks 2. Moment of Silence/Invocation—Chairman Mr. Villela requested a Moment of Silence. 3. Pledse of Alleeiance—All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 4. Citizens to be Heard This is the only time during the meeting that a citizen can address the Cibolo Historic Committee. It is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the Committee on any issue to include agenda items. All visitors wishing to speak must fill out the Sign-In Roster prior to the start of the meeting. The Cibolo Historic Committee may not debate any non-agenda issue, nor may any action be taken on any non- agenda issue at this time, however, the Committee may present any factual response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion — JC-0169) (Limit of three minutes each.) All remarks shall be addressed to the Committee as a body, and not to any individual member thereof. Public criticism of the Committee or any action, policy program or service provided by the City is not prohibited. However, any person making personal, impertinent, or slanderous remarks to individual members of the Committee while addressing the Cibolo Historic Committee may be requested to leave the meeting. Ms. Kearns introduced Mr. Sippel to the Committee. Mr. Sippel talked about Cibolo and the Pfeil House that was built in 1933. The house had three bedrooms and one and half baths. The house also has a basement which was very rare for this area. Mr. Sippel brought a few pictures and the group was able to look at them and ask questions. This was a very interesting information that Mr. Sippel was able to pass on to the Historic Committee. 5. Consent Agenda A. Approval of minutes of the August 12, 2019 Historic Committee Meeting. Ms. Womack made the motion to approve the consent agenda. Motion was seconded by Ms. Kearns. For: All;Against:None. Motion carried 7 to 0. 6. Discussion/Action A. Discussion of proposed projects and/or plans for the committee. Mr.Villela talked about a map that showed Old Town Cibolo and different points of interest. The committee added a few additions to the map. Ms. Womack spoke on the Cemetery walk that could be done in late October early November. The committee seem to think that November would be a better choice of a date as they would be involved with Cibolofest in mid-October. Ms. Womack had spoken with the church pastor and he was in favor of the project. Ms. Womack tried to contact Steele High School but was unable to get ahold of anyone. Will try again. She also contacted Clemons High School and the Girl Scouts and they will get back with her. The committee talked about Cibolofest. A member of the group stated they had a tent which they could setup and use for the event. A donation box would be setup to receive any donation from the public. Ms. Cimics stated that she would order a sign for the booth. The committee will talk more and finalize exactly what they need to do at the next meeting. 7. Future agenda items and dates-Next meeting the committee will talk about Cibolofest and Cemetery Walk. 8. Adjournment—Ms. Kearns made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hicks. For: All; Against:None. Motion carried 7 to 0.
