Min Parks 10/05/2021 Need Signature O F C/6 O r o 'Cxws PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING City of Cibolo 200 S. Main Street October 5,2021 6:30 PM-8:30 PM MINUTES 1. Call to Order—Meeting was called to order at 6:32pm by Mr. Zawicki. 2. Roll Call—Members Present: Mr. Zawicki, Ms. Dodd,Mr. Matheny, and Mr. Benigno. Members Absent: Mr. Hicks and Ms. Herr. Motion was made to excuse the absence of Ms. Herr by Mr. Matheny. Motion was seconded by Ms. Dodd. For: All; Against:None. Motion carried 4 to 0. 3. Moment of Silence/Invocation—Mr. Zawicki ask for a Moment of Silence. 4. Pledge of Allegiance—All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 5. Citizens to be Heard This is the only time during the meeting that a citizen can address the Parks and Recreation Commission. It is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the Parks and Recreation Commission on any issue to include agenda items. All visitors wishing to speak must fill out the Sign-In Roster prior to the start of the meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission may not debate any non-agenda issue, nor may any action be taken on any non-agenda issue at this time however the Parks and Recreation Commission may present any factual response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion—JC-0169)(Limit of three minutes each.) This meeting is livestreamed. If anyone would like to make comments on any matter regarding the City of Cibolo or on an agenda item and have this item read at this meeting, please email pcimics(&cibolotx.aov or text 210-514-3495 before 6:00pm the date of the meeting. No citizens signed up to speak. 6. Consent Agenda A. Approval of the minutes from September 7, 2021. This will be placed on the November agenda. 7. Discussion A. Discussion and update on Parks. Mr. Craighead stated that Niemietz Park and Sports Complex are being used more. The Miracle Field has started and will have groundbreaking soon. B. Discussion and update on Veterans Park Memorial Brick Program. Mr. Zawicki ask about the brick program. Ms. Cimics gave a briefing on how the bricks that are currently in place where advertised. We used acme brick in the past and Ms. Cimics stated she would check to see if they would still be able to provide the bricks and the cost. This will be brought back to a later agenda. C. Discussion on an Events Planning Sub-Committee. Ms. Dodd, Mr. Zawicki and Mr. Matheny are the members of the Events Sub-Committee. They spoke on having a 1/2K run at Rich Park, Kite Fest at Niemietz Park, and a Haunted Hayride Event next year at Tolle Park. More information will be forth coming from this sub-committee. D. Discussion and update on upcoming events. This year Veterans Program will be done at the City of Schertz on November 11 on Schertz Parkway, Veterans Memorial Park. Parks Commission continues to help with Market Days and conducts surveys with citizens that attend that event. E. Discussion on Parks Survey Results.—Survey results were discussed with the group and they plan on continuing the surveys at events that are offered in Cibolo. F. Discussion and update on Senior Program.—Senior Program has been given to the City Council. All decision now will be the responsibility of City Council and staff. 8. Set a Date and Time for Next Meeting Next meeting will be November 91h at 6:30pm 9. Future Agenda Items—None at this time. 10. Adiournment—Motion was made by Mr. Benigno to adjourn the meeting at 7:29pm. Motion was seconded by Ms. Dodd. For: All; Against:None. Motion carried 4 to 0.
