MINUTES
1.. :Call to Order—Meeting was:called to:order by the Chairman Ms. Herr at 6::3.0 p.m.
2. Roll Call-.Members Present:.Ms. Herr,.Ms. Dodd; Mr. Hicks; Mr. Zawicki,Ms. Bruce, Mr.
Matheny, and Mr. Benigno (arrived at.
6:36p.m:).
3. Moment of Silence/Invocation=:Ms. Herr-ask for a.Moment of Silence..
4. Pledge of Allegiance—All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
5. Elections
Election for Chairman: Mr. Hicks nominated Ms. Herr as Chairman and it was.seconded.by Mr.
Zawicki. There were no other.nominations. A vote was taken for Ms: Herr as Chairman. For:
All; Against:None: Motion carried 6 to 0.
Election for.Vice Chairman: Mr.:Hicks made the motion to nominate Mr)Zawicki as Vice.:
Chairmanand the motion was'secondedby Ms. Herr. There were no other.nominations.' A vote-
was
otewas taken for Mr. Zawicki as Vice.Chairman. For: All; Against:None. Motion carried 6 to-0.
6. Oath of Office—All members:present have received the Oath of Office.
7. Citizens to be Heard
This is:the only time during the Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting that a citizen can
address the Commission. It is the:opportunity for visitors and:guests to:address the:Commission
on:any issueto include.agenda items. All visitors wishing to speak must:fill out the Sign-In Roster
prior to the'start of the'meeting.Parks and Recreation Commission may not debate any non-agenda
issue;.nor may any action betaken on:any non=agenda issue at this.time;however,the Commission
may present any factual response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion-JC-
- . 0169) (Limitof three minutes each.)All remarks shall be addressed to the Commission as a body.
Remarks::may also be addressed to any individual member of the Commission so long as the
remarks are.(i) about matters of.local public concern and (ii) not.disruptive to:the meeting or
threatening-to the member or any attendee. Any person violating this:policy may be requested to.
leave the meeting;but no person may be requested to leave or forced to leave the meeting because
of the viewpoint expressed. This meeting is livestreamed.° If anyone would like to :make
comments;on any matter regarding the City of Cibolo.or on an.agenda item and have this,

8. Consent Agenda
A. Approval of the minutes fromFebruary 2, 2022.
Mr. Matheny.,made themotion to approve the consent-agenda.:Motion,was seconded by
Mr. Hicks. ,For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 6 to 0.
9. Discussion
A. Discussion/Action re ardin setting a date for the Parks Tour.

The date has tentative been set for April 30, 2022. Will confiriim date at next meeting.
B. Discussion/Action and update on upcoming events or projects for FY 2022.
Kite Day was briefed to the Parks Commission including the expenses required for the
event. A motion-was made by Mr. Benign to approve a budget of$650.00 for the event.
Motion was seconded by Mr. Zawicki. For: All; Against:None. Motion:carried 7:to 0.
Memorial Day Event was briefly discussed. Mr. Matheny,is the chair of the sub-
committee for this event. Commission talked about a speaker,;ROTC, Band Chaplain,
Flags and Scouts helping. More to discuss at the next meeting.
Park Day; Pickleball, and 0.5 K will be discussed in April.
C. Discussion/Recommendations for any Park improvements or repairs.
Mr. Craighead,the City's Parks Superintendent informed the Comniissionl if they see
playground equipment in any of the parks that needs to be fixed or replace to let us know.
If it is not a safety.concernit.may not be fix immediately but will be placed on a list.to be
looked at and fix or replaced. If it is a safety concern that equipment will.be taken out
until a replacement can be purchased. Mr. Craighead also informed the Commission that
he did a walk thru of all the city parks with an individual that gave him some ideal of the
cost to-fix some of the amenities we have,at the parks.
10. Set a Date and Time for Next Meeting—The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,April 6,
2022 at 6:30 p.m:
11:Future Agenda Items—Mn-Zawicki:requested an update on Tolle and Schlather Park.
12. Adjournment
Mr. Matheny made the motion to adjournthe.meeting at-7:46 p.m. -Motion.was seconded
by Mr.Benigno: For: All; Against:None. Motion carried 7 to 0.
