Call to Order—Meeting was called to order by 6:31 p.m.. 2. Roll Call—Members Present: Ms. Herr,Mr. White, Mr: Zawicki, and Ms. Dodd; Members Absent:'Mr:Hicks, Mr. Matheny, Mr. Benigno, Ms. Bruce, and Ms. Forsberg. 3. Moment of Silence/Invocation—Chairman ask all those in attendance for a Moment of Silence. 4. .Pledge of Allegiance—All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 5. Oath of Office—This will be done at the next meeting 6. Election of a Chairman and Vice Chairman—Postponed till March meeting. 7. Citizens to be Heard This is the only time during the meeting that a citizen can address_the Parks and. Recreation Commission. It is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the Parks and Recreation Commission on any issue to include agenda items. All visitors wishing to speak must fill out the Sign-In Roster prior to the start of the meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission may not debate any non-agenda issue, nor may any action be taken on any non-agenda issue at this time however the Parks and Recreation Commission may present any factual response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion—JC-0169)(Limit of three minutes each.) This meeting is livestreamed. If anyone would like to make comments on any matter regarding the City of Cibolo or on an agenda item and have this item read at this meeting, please email' ncimics(dkibolotx.gov or text 210-514-3495 before 6:00pm the date of the meeting. No individuals signed up to speak. 8. Consent Agenda A. Approval of the minutes of the November 9, 2021 meeting. B. Approval of the minutes of the January 4, 2022 meeting. Motion was made by Mr. Zawicki to approve the consent agenda. Motion was seconded by Mr. White. Motion carried 4 to 0. 9. Discussion A. Discussion/Action on a presentation of the Brick Program and presenting this to the City Council. This was briefed by Mr. Zawicki. He stated that they would be ready to present to council in March. Mr. White did ask why we were looking to sell the brick for such a low price. Mr. Zawicki stated that this would be an introduction price and they plan on raising the price at a later date. They also talked about if the moving of park equipment would also be briefed at this presentation. Equipment should be given to Mr. Craighead to place in his proposed budget. Parks committee might want to split the presentation first get the brick program approve than brief on what they are looking at for revitalizing Veterans Park. B. Discussion/Action regarding setting a date for the Parks Tour. Will discuss at the March meeting. Encourage everyone to go to the parks on their own. Look at what we might be able to do at each park. C. Discussion/Action regarding logo items for Commission. Tabled to future meeting. D. Discussion on Memorial Day Event and a possible setting up a sub-committee that we bring back to the entire committee details for this event. Will bring back to next meeting. E. Discussion on park events (Pickle Ball, Kite Event&Memorial Day). Ms. Dodd stated still have problems with lines. Kite festival is still set for March 19th Pickle Ball/Field Day are set for April 30th. Have not heard back from Kite vendor as of this date. They are looking at a different vendor with a little bigger kite. F. Presentation from Park Superintendent on Summer Nights Program and the City Secretary on the Easter Egg Hunt to see if anyone from the Parks Committee would like to help at these events. Summer Nights will be done by area organizations this year. Summer Nights program will be May to August. Easter Egg Hunt will be in April. MS. Cimics will give the date at next meeting. G. Briefing by Mr. Craighead on City Park Improvements. Niemietz finishing up on the pipes. Representative on Park Equipment coming out on park equipment and life cycle so we can set budget on replacement. Niemietz Park lights were replaced today and will have electrician check the system. Surface on the basketball court. Slaughter Park trails—Bids can in and all bids were over budget so staff needs to look at what the next step will be. Tolle Park still waiting on final revision on the trails. 10. Date and Time for Next Meeting—March 2, 2022. 11. Future Agenda Items—What Parks Committee would like on the next FY budget. 12. Adjournment—Mr. Zawicki made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:09 p.m. Motion was seconded by Ms. Dodd. For: All: Against:None. Motion carried 4 to 0.
