A RESOLUTION SCHEDULING PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR THE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF THIRTY(30.000) ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE SIMON
COCKRELL SURVEY AND A. S. LEWIS SURVEY IN GUADALUPE COUNTY,
TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN THE GUADALUPE COUNTY DEED RECORD BOOK 460,
BELONGING TO SCHERTZ- CIBOLO- UNIVERSAL CITY INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City of Cibolo, Texas,by the Schertz- Cibolo -
Universal City Independent School District; Board of Trustees, requesting the annexation of
thirty (30.000)acres of land into the corporate limits of the City of Cibolo, Texas,
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CIBOLO, TEXAS.
Section I. That two Public Hearings will be held TO SUCH DISCUSS ANNEXATION, the first
being on Tuesday, March 1.2, 1996 at 6:30 P.M. in the Cibolo City Hall; and the second being
held on March 19, 1996, at 6:30 P.M. in the Cibolo City Hall, for the purpose of providing
all interested persons the opportunity to be heard concerning the proposed annexation of thirty
(30.000) acres of land by the City of Cibolo.
Section 2. The description of the thirty (30.000)acres of land which.is proposed to be annexed
is as follows:
Being 15.000 acres of land more or less out of the Simon Cockrell Survey No. 77,
and 15.000 acres of land more or less out of the A. S. Lewis Survey No. 78, Guadalupe
County, Texas, and being in all 30.000 acres of land out of that certain 151.1 acre tract of
land, more or less, conveyed by Emily A. Kiel to Nolan C. Varner by deed dated October 10,
1972, and recorded in Vol. 459, pg. 297-300, of the Deed Records of Guadalupe County,
Texas, and described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pipe and corner post in the Northeast line of a County Road,
in the Southeast line of Survey No. 76,the Northwest line of the Simon Cockrill Survey
No. 77, set for the West corner of the above described Nolan C. Varner 15 1.1 acre tract;
THENCE with the Northwest line of the said County Road, S. 29° 20'E. 2,366.7 feet to an iron
pin set for the West corner and POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein conveyed 30.000 acre of
land;
THENCE N. 590 20'E. 928.0 feet an iron post set for the North corner of this 30.000
acre tract;
THENCE S. 300 40' E. 1,399.7 feet to an iron pin in the Northwest line of the
aforesaid County Road, set for the East corner of this 30.000 acre tract;
THENCE with the fence and Northwest line of the said County Road, S. 59° 26' W.
78 1.1 feet and
S. 810 18' W. 179.3 feet to an iron pin set for the South corner of this tract;
THENCE with the Northeast line of the said County Road,N. 290 50'W. 1,331.4 feet
to the point of BEGINNING and containing 30.000 acres of land.
Section 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
