MINUTES 1. Call to Order -Mayor Hartman called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. 2. Roll Call Mayor Hartman Councilman Pedde Councilman Krasnai Councilman Wiederstein- absent Councilman Winn Councilman Carlton Councilman Liparoto Councilman Hetzel City Staff: City Manager Bruce Pearson, Asst City Secretary Sheila Edmondson, Community Development Services Director Robert Stricker, City Planner Randal Anderson 3. Invocation—Invocation was given by Councilman Carlton 4. Pledge of Allegiance—Councilman Winn led the Pledge of Allegiance 5. Public Hearin A.The City of Cibolo City Council will hold a Public Hearing to hear public testimony concerning the proposed annexation of approximately 2,151.53 acres of land, specifically properties within the City of Cibolo's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), generally located south of Arizpe Road and extends to Interstate Highway 10. Mayor Hartman opened the Public Hearing at 7:04 P.M. The following individuals Jim Leribeauis asked what would be the advantage of being annexed other paying the city taxes. Bruce Pearson explained what services would be provided to the newly annexed areas. Jim Leribeauis does not want to be annexed. Shawn Shaw wanted to know why only 49 acres of his 59+acres were going to be annexed. Bruce Pearson explained that when the property was released from San Antonio, that was the acreage that could be annexed at this time. Shawn Shaw stated he would rather have the City of Cibolo annex his property than the City of San Antonio. Judy Farris stated she moved to the county because that was her choice. It was not "her choice" to be annexed into the City of Cibolo, City of Choice. She asked about fire coverage, how many tankers the Fire Dept. has and what is their water hold capacity. Judy Farris does not want to be annexed. Joe Farris asked why would they need protection from growth?How can the City define what would be undesirable?He feels the City annexing their property would make things more restrictive. He asked about what roads would the City start to take over maintenance. Joe Farris does not want to be annexed. Mayor Hartman thanked the audience for showing up and speaking tonight. 5. Adjournment Councilman Winn moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:32 P.M. Councilman Liparoto seconded the motion. For: Council Members: Pedde, Krasnai,Winn, Carlton, Liparoto and Hetzel. Against: None.
