Design development of the expansion and renovation project has been completed. A committee was formed to consider building alternatives and cost estimates. On August 23`d, 24'x', and 30't', our office hosted a presentation and tour of our existing facility and extended an invitation to you and your governing body to attend. The intent of this presentation and tour was to show you and your governing body the needs of our district at this time. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to those entity representatives you sent for these presentations. They offered positive feedbacks and concern for the need of our district. Before actual construction can begin, an entity approval process must be considered. Section 6.051(b) of the Texas Property Tax Code prescribes this approval process. The first step of the approval process requires that the Board of Directors (B.O.D.) approve a resolution proposing the expansion and renovation project. During the regular meeting of the B.O.D. held September 11, 2006, the B.O.D. approved a resolution proposing the expansion&renovation project. Upon approval of the proposal resolution, the chief appraiser is then required to notify the presiding officer of each entities governing body of the approved resolution, which is the purpose of this letter. Enclosed you will find a copy of the approved resolution. Section 6.051(b) further states that upon receiving notification of the approved resolution, the governing body of each taxing unit served by G.A.D. must approve or disapprove by way of resolution the proposed expansion and renovation project no later than 30 days after receiving notification of the approved resolution. With that being said, the B.O.D. respectfully request that an action item be placed upon your governing bodies agenda no later than October 11, 2006 to approve a resolution of the proposed expansion and renovation project. Also enclosed you will find a sample resolution that your governing body may use for the approval process. Section 6.051(b)also requires that each entity file with the Chief Appraiser the resolution that was approved by the governing body no later than October 21,2006. An appraisal district representative and or a member of the Board of Directors will be available to attend the meeting in which this resolution will be discussed and acted upon. Please notify our office as soon as possible, so arrangements can be made, for district representation at these meetings. Respect Submitted, Jamie Osborne,R.P.A. Chief Appraiser
