Judge Phillips briefed all those in attendance on the difference between a Court of Record and a Court of Non -Record. Some reasons to pursue going to a Court of Record are: It gives the city more power to enforce the ordinances that they have for example: junk vehicles, animal cases, signs, and dilapidated buildings just to name a few. Cibolo must be able to record the proceedings and we must pass an ordinances that will be sent to the state to become a Court of Record. The Judge must be a license lawyer in the State of Texas for at least 2 years. The only thing Cibolo would have to do is write the ordinance and have council approve the ordinance.
