ORD 231 12/16/1976 41/ o 411 1111 ORDINANCE NO. 231 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THAT THE OFFICE OF TAX ASSESSOR- COT,TFCTOR SHALL BE AN APPOINTIVE OFFICE OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, PROVIDING FOR TIME OF APPOINTMENT, LENGTH OF TERM OF OFFICE, METHOD OF QUALIFYING, REQUIREMENT FOR BOND, AND PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR VACANCIES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS: SECTION I. The office of Assessor-Collector shall be appointive. At the first regular meeting held after the general city election held on the first Saturday in April of each even numbered year, or as soon there- after as practicable, and after the members of the City Council elected at said election in the even numbered year have qualified and been in- stalled in office, the City Council shall by majority vote appoint a Assessor-Collector to serve for a term of two (2) years, and until his suc- cessor shall have been duly appointed and qualified. The Assessor- Collector, at the beginning of each term of office,sha]lst.akE and subscribe to the official oath of office, and shall post bond in such sum as the City Council shall direct, the premium on said bond to be paid by the City. SECTION II. The Assessor-Collector shall perform all of the statutory duties prescribed by law in Chapter 5 or Article 28 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas of 1925, and as hereafter amended, and other statutes of the State pertaining to said office, and such other duties as may be prescribed to said office, and such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the City Council. SECTION III. Any vacancy in the office of Assessor-Collector by reason of death, resignation, or otherwise, shall be filled as provided in Subdivision (e) of Article 989, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas of 1925, as amended.
