AN ORDINANCE REVISING ORDINANCE NO. 281-A, AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS
PERTAINING TO THE BUILDING OF FENCES WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS; AND
PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
REVISED TO INCLUDE SET -BACK REQUIREMENTS AND
TO INCREASE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF TO
THE AMOUNT OF $1,000.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS,
THAT:
SECTION 1. A permit is required for any fence erected
by a property owner or contractor in accordance with the Southern
Building Code. Fee dependent upon value of completed product.
SECTION 2. Fences shall be constructed so as not to
enclose public utility meters (i.e., water meters, gas meters,
electricity meters, etc.), making them inaccessible to meter
readers.
SECTION 3. No fence, shrub, hedge or other growth within
a yard shall be allowed to obstruct the view at traffic inter-
sections. (Trees having a single trunk and pruned from the
ground to seven (7) feet above the ground are accepted).
SECTION 4. No fence shall be permitted to be constructed
beyond the front corner of the dwelling (not to include porches),
with the exception of small, decorative type fences not to exceed
three (3) feet in height.
SECTION 5. For corner lots, the side -yard fence not to
exceed property line; nor exceed within six (6') feet of edge
of curbing.
SECTION 6. No fence shall exceed a maximum height of
eight (8') feet.
SECTION 7. The portion of a solid fence from the front
or rear corners of the house may not extend to the side yard fence
at the maximum height. Solid fences are described as such:
masonry, brick, stone, board, grapesteak and chainlink type in
which enameled aluminum or plastic or wood filler strips are
inserted; this also includes any other structure or hedge, shrub,
or other growth within a front yard which may obstruct the view
of traffic.
SECTION 8. If any fence, existing under the "Grandfather
Clause," is torn down and replaced for any reason, the replaced
fence must conform to the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 9. Any_ violation of this ordinance is punishable �
by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 for each offense. Every day
any such violation shall exist shall be deemed to constitute a
separate offense.
SECTION 10. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage, approval, and publication as prescribed by law.
