MINUTES
1. Call to Order—Mayor Hartman called the meeting to order for the City Council and Mr.Peacock called the meeting to
order for the Economic Development Corporation.
2. Roll Call—Council Present:Mayor Hartman,Councilman Pedde,Councilman Troncoso,Councilman Castro,
Councilwoman Hale,Councilman Carlton(arrived at 5:40 pm),Councilman Liparoto and Councilman Hicks.
EDC Present:Mr.Peacock,Mr.Hetzel,Mr.Jackson(arrived 5:15 pm),Mr.Abel,and Ms.Heasley;EDC Members
Absent:Ms.Thomas and Ms.Evans. Staff Present: City Manager Mr.Herrera,City Secretary Cimics,EDC Director Luft
and Fire Chief Niemietz.
3. Discussion
A. Discussion and direction to staff on the Downtown Cibolo Revitalization Study prepared by MDN Architects.
A PowerPoint presentation was given by MDN Architects on the"Downtown Revitalization/Action Plan". MDN added
another Gateway location since the last presentation at Borgfeld Road and Cibolo Valley Drive.There was discussion from
both council and EDC on the usage of the old school building and parking issues in the downtown area. EDC was concern
with the cost but did feel stakeholders would be more accepting of the project with a by-in if some progress was seen on
the Revitalization Project. There was a consensus of the council that agreed the old school building could be used for both
additional City office space and a Community Center. Everyone agreed that we needed to have some contact with the
railroad and Mr.Luft stated he would be talking with them soon.
4. Adjournment
Councilman Liparoto moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:11 pm. Motion was seconded by Councilman Pedde. Council
For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 7 to 0. EDC Chairman Peacock called the meeting closed at 6:11 pm. For: All;
Against:None. Motion carried 5 to 0.
