Call to Order—Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jackson at 6:3 0 p.m. 2. Roll Call — Mayor Jackson, Councilwoman Schultes, Councilman Garrett, Councilman Doty, Councilman Russell, Councilman Hogue and Councilman Dunn; Staff Present: City Manager Herrera and City Secretary Cimics. 3. Invocation—Invocation was given by Councilman Russell. 4. Pledge of Allegiance—All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 5. Discussion and Interview of candidates to fill the vacant position of Council Member District 3. The Mayor asked all the candidates that had filed an application Mr. Ruppert, Mr. Mayfield, Ms.Camp-Gebhardt and Mr.Elias to have a seat in the lobby and that the Council will be calling them in one by one. At this time Mr. Elias was not present. Council interviewed each candidate which the exception of Mr. Elias who never showed up for the meeting. Council did recess at 6:51 p.m. and reconvened and continued the interviews at 7:09 p.m. 6. Executive Session The City Council will meet in Executive Session as authorized by the Texas Gov't Code Section 551.074 regarding Personnel Matters to discuss the following: A. To deliberate the appointment of City Council District 3. Council convened into Executive Session at 7:50 p.m. 7. Open Session Reconvene into Regular Session and take action/or give direction, if necessary, on items discussed in Executive Session Council reconvened into regular session at 8:18 p.m. Councilwoman Schultes made the motion to appoint Ms. Camp-Gebhardt to the City Council District 3 Seat. Motion was seconded by Councilman Garrett. Mayor Jackson called for a roll call vote: Councilwoman Schultes —Yes, Councilman Garrett— Yes, Councilman Doty —Yes, Councilman Russell — Yes, Councilman Hogue — Yes; and Councilman Dunn—Yes. Motion carried 6 to 0. Mayor Jackson thanked all the candidates stating they all had great resumes and their expertise could be utilized on city committees and commission. Mayor Jackson 1 also reminded all the candidates that this position will be on the November ballot and urged everyone to file an application later in the month. Ms. Camp-Gebhardt was informed that she would be sworn in at the Council Meeting on July 14,2015. 8. Adjournment Councilman Dunn made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 p.m. Motion was seconded by Councilman Doty. For: All;Against:None. Motion carried 6 to 0.
