AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, GUADALUPE COUNTY, TEXAS,
PROVIDING FOR AN AMENDMENT TO CITY OF CIBOLO ORDINANCE NO.
379-55 AS AMENDED BY ESTABLISHING AN ALL WAY STOP AT THE
INTERSECTION OF DEER CREEK BOULEVARD AT CIBOLO VALLEY
DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A
CUMULATIVE/REPEALER CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS Section 544.003 of the Texas Transportation Code provides that a local
government may designate, place and maintain a traffic control device on a highway under the
authority's jurisdiction in conformance with the Texas Transportation Commission's Manual on
Uniform Traffic Control Devices; and
WHEREAS the City of Cibolo passed and approved Ordinance No. 379 on August 7,
1986, which includes Section 55-80 Full Stop: Stop Sign Streets: Locations that has been
amended from time to time to accommodate the construction of new streets and the placement
of stop signs at specific locations; and
WHEREAS the City of Cibolo's roadway system has grown significantly and the number
of roadway intersections in which stop signs are warranted have increased; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Cibolo, Guadalupe County, Texas, has
investigated and determined that it would be advantageous and beneficial to the citizens of the
City of Cibolo, Guadalupe County, Texas, to establish stop signs at various locations throughout
the City as specified by this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO,
TEXAS:
Section 1. Findings Incorporated
The findings set forth above are incorporated into the body of this Ordinance as fully set forth
herein.
Section 2. Ordinance Amended
Section 55-80 Full Stop: Stop Signs Streets: Locations of Ordinance No. 379-55 and all
subsequent amendments is hereby amended by adding the following to Subsection 55-80.3 to
All Way Stops:
"Deer Creek Boulevard at Cibolo Valley Drive"
Section 3. Severability
It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the phrases, clauses, sentences,
paragraphs, and sections of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause sentence,
paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment
or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of
the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since
the same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this
ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.
Section 4. Cumulative/Repealer Clause
This Ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions of ordinances of the City of Cibolo, Texas,
except where the provisions of the Ordinance are in direct conflict with the provisions of such
ordinances, in which event the conflicting provisions of such ordinances are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Effective Date
That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon the passage and approval of the City
Council of the City of Cibolo, Texas.
