ORD 1098 04/22/2014 J Of cue ,, \,k r o R Tex ns 'aU of Choice' ORDINANCE NO. 10 9 8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 904 OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS, BY CHANGING THE COMMENCEMENT TIME OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS FROM 7:00 PM TO 6:30 PM AND PROVIDING FOR REPEALER, SEVERABILITY CLAUSES AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The Cibolo City Charter Article III, § 3.08 authorizes the City Council to fix the date and time of Council meetings by Ordinance; and WHEREAS, The Council wishes to change the starting time for its regular city council meetings to accommodate the schedules of councilmembers and citizens and to ensure that more citizens are able to stay for the entire city council meeting or for as much of the meetings as possible to observe the transaction of city business. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that changing its meeting starting time from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is in the City's best interest. NOW THEREFOREBE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO TEXAS: SECTION 1 That the starting time of the City of Cibolo's regular City Council meetings shall hereby be changed from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. SECTION 2. REPEALER All provisions of the Ordinances of the City of Cibolo, codified or uncodified, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the Ordinances of the City of Cibolo, codified or uncodified, not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY - It is the intention of the City Council that this ordinance, and every provision thereof, shall be considered severable, and the invalidity or unconstitutionality of any section, clause, provision or portion of this ordinance shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other provision of this ordinance. SECTION 4 EFFECTIVE DATE That this Ordinance shall be effective upon the approval of the City Council of the City of Cibolo, Texas and the publication twice in the City's official newspaper of general circulation.
