TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016 FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE ELECTION OF COUNCIL MEMBERS TO DISTRICT 1,4, 5 AND 6. WHEREAS,.the.City of.Cibolo, Texas, regular municipal election for Council Members District 1, 4, 5 and 6 and are scheduled for November 8th , 2016; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, GUADALUPE COUNTY,TEXAS... SECTION 1. A municipal election is hereby ordered to be held on the authorized uniform election date of Tuesday, the 81h .of November, 2016 at which time shall be submitted to the qualified voters of the City the following Council District-elections; DISTRICT ONE VOTE FOR ONE OR NONE- For Council Member,District No. 1: ❑ - 1 DISTRICT FOUR VOTE FOR ONE OR NONE For Council Member, District No. 4 ❑ El DISTRICT FIVE VOTE FOR ONE.OR NONE For Council Member; District No. 5 ❑ DISTRICT SIX VOTE FOR ONE OR NONE For Council Member, District No. 6 ❑ SECTION 2. Individual receiving highest number of votes in each separate Council District will be elected to said office when the City Council has canvassed the election results and enters and order stating the same. Only register voters from Council members districts may vote in district elections. SECTION 3. As soon as practical after the election and the declaration.by the Council that the votes have been canvassed, the City Secretary shall certify to the Secretary of State an authenticated copy showing approval or disapproval by the voters of the elected Council Members. SECTION 4. The foregoing municipal election is hereby ordered to be held on Tuesday; the 8th of November, 2016 in accordance with the laws of Texas, and the provisions of the Charter of the City of Cibolo, and the official ballots for said election shall be prepared in accordance with the Texas Election Code for the election. Voting at said election shall be done as determined by the County Elections Officer of Guadalupe County, Texas. The equipment necessary for voting shall be available at the voting sites for the purpose of conducting early voting by personal appearance and at the-Election Day voting site established for the purpose of voting by personal appearance on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2016. The County Elections Officer of Guadalupe County, Texas is authorized and charged to-perform the functions provided by law in the casting of early ballots and shall hold such elections, and ballots shall be cast commencing on October 24, 2016 and ending on November 4, 2016; all in the method; manner and time made and provided by the Statutes of the State of Texas on this subject. Lisa Adam, Elections Administrator will be-appointed as early voting clerk in compliance Section 271.006 of the Texas Election Code. Other deputy early voting clerks will be appointed as needed to process early voting mail and to conduct early voting at the main location and branch locations. Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted on weekdays-beginning Monday, October 24, 2016,. through Saturday, October 29, 2016, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Sunday, October 30, 2016 between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm and continuing Monday, October 31, 2016, through Friday, November 4, 2016, between 7:.00 am and 7:00 pm. Any qualified voter for the Joint Election may vote early by personal appearance at either the main early voting location,branch locations, or temporary branch locations. The Mayor and City Council shall contract with the Guadalupe County through the Guadalupe County Clerk's Elections Office f6r the conduct of this election. The Guadalupe County Clerk's Election Department shall appoint the election officers to hold said election, in accordance with State Election Law, including an Early Balloting Board, Signature Verification Committee and the Central Counting Station representatives which shall count and canvass the early ballots cast at said election. SECTION-8. Notice of said election shall be given by publishing a substantial copy of this ordinance in a daily newspaper of general circulation published in the City not less than 30 days before the first date of the election.
