Min CC 04/20/1972 -J CITY OF CIBOLO CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 20; 1972 The C"ity Council meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Mayor Schlather with all city councilmen present. Vote count turned in by Erwin Wiederstein, Pending Election Judge, were determined to be correct and that 51 -votes were cast, with Ling receiving 49 votes for Place 1, George Sassman receiving 1 vote - for Place 1, Fred Niemietz receiving 49 votes for Place 4, Rev. Henning receiving 1 vote for-Place 4, and Clemens Dylla receiving 50 votes for Place 5. One ballot was blank and not marked. Aldermen Niemietz, Dylla, and Ling were sworn in as new aldermen. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The financial report was read and accepted. Conside.rable discussion ensued concerning the Tri City Base- ball League' s requirements for minimum age of participating girls . Mr. Ling is to investigate this problem fuk•ther- with Mr. Robert Schwartz of S.chertz. Aldermen Dykes and: Lieck agreed to assist in liaison with AACOG. There was no report from the Parks and Recreation Dept. In spite of the fact that the AE is 5 months behind schedule, he -has still made no progress on our Master Plan nor on the sketches for the City Park fence. No - one from Cibolo was able to attend the last meeting of the Thoroughfare Study Group. Mayor. Schlather brought to our attention that Elizabeth Yount, the county attorney, is supposed to be available to assist small communities such as ours in court cases.. Consequently, coun- cil agreed that we should attempt to utilize her services when- ever possible . Page Two No progress has been made in revising our junk auto ordinance since Schertz has not completed their revision. Mr.. Ling is to request a copy of a model ordinance from the TML. He is also to request from TML the appropriate measures required to implement joint police efforts , parti`cally in regard to joint use of a radar unit and personnel. There has been no news concerning the eligibility of Guadalupe County cities for HUD funds because of the failure of Guada- lupe County to belong to AACOG. The recuest for a franchise by GITEC was discussed- further. Mayor Schlather is to have more information for presentation at the May City Council Meeting. Street repairs are expected to be underway by next month.. Mr. .Niemietz made a motion, seconded by Dylla, and passed to increase Ed Higginson' s (City Mar•srial) compensation from $40.,, to 460. a month. Mr. Ling is to present a proposed five year budget for the council' s consideration at the May meeting. The council proclaimed May as Fix-up, Clean-up Month in Cibolo. Citizens were urged to clean their premises of junk, trash, .and anything that is providing a place for rodents and mosquitoes.. The meeting adjourned at 9s15 ,P.M. F. S.
