Min CC 02/23/1972 41 CITY OF CIBOLO CITY COUNCIL MELTING FEBRUARY 23, 1972 The regular city council meeting for the City of Cibolo was called to order at 7: 35 P .m. with all members present. Also present were Mr. Doyle Hines and Mr. Echols of GVEC, and Mr. Hoyle Osburn of Marmon and Mok. The minutes were read and approved as read. Mr. Osburn gave a two-hour presentation on the proposed Master Plan. - �- Mr. Doyle Hines, GVEC, presented a proposed franchise for the Council' s consideration. The financial report was read and approved. An invitation from the City of Kirby to members of the Council to attend a social at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 1972 was read. The Resolution commending Capt. Donovan for work with the Regional Thoroughfare Study Group was passed. A motion was made by Mr. Dykes, seconded by Mr. Lieck, to -ourcha.se an insurance policy for drivers of vehicles on city business . The eligibility of Cibolo for Federal Funds through AACOG will be further investigated by Mayor Schlather, concern- ing the published statement that cities in GuadalLzpe County are ineligible for funds because the County govern- ment is not a member of AACOG. The development of the City Park was discussed with Mr. Osburn who will draw up a revised plan. A motion was made by Mr. Niemietz and seconded by Mr. Lieck to seek Bureau of Outdoor Recreation funds for park development and to authorize Mayor Schlather to sign and submit appli- cation for same. A motion was made by Mayor Schlather and seconded by Mr. Ling for the City Secretary to send a letter to Mr. Walker (signed by Mayor) expressing appreciation for work and accepting resignation. Mr. Eomer Dean was appointed as Director of Parks and Recreation Dept. The City Council agreed to purchase one hundred(100) oak trees L- 44.50 each maximum. Mayor Schlather is to check on best price. A bid from Mr. Tolle fora street repairs- was accepted. The cost is to be based on hour for grading of streets and 01.55 per ton of gravel. The es-timated cost is .4450. -to- 0500.
