Min CC 11/02/1972 CITY OF CTBOLO CITY COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 2, 1972 The regular City Council meeting was- called to order by Mayor ,Schlather at 7:05 P. M. with all members present . The minutes 'of the last meeting were read and approved as read. Ed Ling reported on his, and Mayor S.chlather' s trip to Austin on the 30th of October. The results of their discussion with the Parks and Wildlife Dept. were briefly as follows A matching 50-50 grant may be available. if approved.. Sub- mission date for the overall plan is Dec . 1, 1972 for- ap- proval and funding by March 1, 1973. The City can obtain ' no matching funds for donated labor or materials . However, any donated materials or labor may be utilized to reduce the overall cost so long as the completed facility conforms to the .plans and specifications . The Council agreed after considerable discussion to try for one lighted ball diamond, a concession stand with latrines and- a picnic area in the initial program. In order to obtain the facilities within the funds available, it will be necessary to obtain the maximum amounts of donated labor and ;materials. It is expected that GVEC will donate the labor and materials for lighting of the ball diamond. Linda reported that of. the personnel of the City of Universal City she was able to contact, no one had any cost figures' con- cerning the Radio Network. She will- continue her efforts to obtain this information during the next two weeks. Ed Higginson reported that Chief Schoonover of Schertz was dissatisfied with the cost of this service . Mayor Schlather reported that he had requested the assistance of the Texas Highway Patrol in maintaining compliance with our ,speed laws . They have already implemented his request. Alderman Niemietz reported that several stop signs have been removed by vandals and recomended that additional signs be purchased. -No action was taken at this time. Mayor Schlather reported that the Civil Defense Ordinance is approaching completion. More detailed plans for the work day Sunday, November 5th, were outlined by Alderman Niemietz and discussed by the council. It was agreed that the next regular meeting of the City Council will commence at 6: 30 P. M. , Thursday November 16. Mayor ' Schlather reported that Mr. Bob ,Uhr of United Gas Co. is expected to be present at the next City Council meeting to request a franchise.
