CITY COUNCIL MEETING
OCTOBER 185 1973
The regular City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor
Schlather with all members present except Alderman Alwin Lieck.
The minutes were read and approved as read.
The financial report was read and accepted.
Mr. Bob Uhr of United Gas appeared before the City Council to explain their
request for an increase in Gas Rates . This was to follow-up on their written
explanation and accounting report which had been previously submitted justi-
fying the increase. After much discussion, a motion was made by Alderman
Ted Dykes (Alderman Edward Ling) and passed 3 to 1 (Alderman Clemens Dylla
against) to pass Ordinance No - 59-

9.Mayor Schlather informed the Council that he had heard that GVEC planned a
new high voltage transmission line across the north of Cibolo . The Council
agreed that they would like GVEC to discuss the routing with the Council to
assure compatibility with our Master Plan.
The .Zoning Map for Cibolo was discussed and modified to show latest annexattion.
It was to be returned to Hoyle Osborne (Marmon, Mok and Green) for inclusion
into the finalized zoning map which is to be forwarded to us immediately.
The Council agreed to hire and Mr. Grant Pfiel accepted the position as City
Building Inspector. His salary is to be set at a future date, probably as a
percentage of the building permit fee.
.Alderman Edward Ling raised the question of the need for inclusion in the
City Building Code a foundation design. No action was taken at this meeting.
The Mayor reported the results of an October 12 telephone vote of all Council-
men to in the affirmative defer taxation on the Industrial Park for 7 years if
the entire tract was sold to Fredrich Refrigeration for the purpose of con-
structing a manufacturing plant. Alderman Dylla had abstained from the voting.
There being no further business, Mayor Schlather adjourned the meeting at 9:25 P.M.
