Min CC 07/17/1975 CITY OF CIBOLO CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 17, 1975 The regular city council meeting was called to order by Mayor Schlather at 7:00 P.M. with all members .present.e Also present at the meeting-,,-were Charles Devinney(Director of Family Planning) , Carroll Johnson(CCMA) , Robert Merrill and other citizens . The invocation was given by Edward Ling. The minutes were approved as presented. The financial report was accepted as presented. Mr. Devinney(Director of Family Planning, New Braunfels) briefed the Council on the need for a public health nurse and office clerk to complete the County Public Health Unit. The Commissioner's Court has agreed to fund $8,000.00 of the $16,000.00 needed for this endeavor.. They asked that the incorporated cities within the County provide the remaining $8,000. on a per capita basis . He reported that Schertz intends to request 100% funding by the County. Since this unit would be of benefit to the citizens of Cibolo, a motion was made by Fred Niemietz(Marvin Kierum) and passed unanimously that the Commissioner's Court be -asked to fund all of the $16,000. needed to expand the Public Health Unit. Mayor Schlather introduced Mr. Robert L. Merrill to the Council. Mr. Merrill had applied for the policeman/water works operator's position with the City. Mr. Carroll Johnson of CCMA gave a short briefing and showed an EPA film ex- plaining 11208 Planning" . Edward Ling reported the status of the construction on the City Park. After discussion the Council agreed that Mr. Hehs' services would no longer be re- quired. Linda was to notify him of this . Police Protection was discussed and the Council decided not to hire Mr. Merrill since he did not reside in the city and could not move in the immediate future. Mayor Schlather presented. a proposal to the Council from the Cibolo State Bank concerning the possibility of the City's purchase of the recently vacated bank building. The Bank proposed to sell the building to the City for $17,500.00. PAGE II JULY 17, 1975 MINUTES. They would allow $75500. trade in for the existing City Hall on the purchase. This would leave a balance of $10,000.00 proposed to be financed- at 6%. Mayor Schlather was to check with our attorney on legal ramifications of this purchase. Mayor Schlather again reported to the Council that there was available to the City a 1959 model John Deere tractor with a 3 point hookup and- wide front wheels and with a street sweepang broom on the front for $2,250.00.
