1. CALL TO ORDER: 7 p.m., Mayor John A. Sippel
2 . QUORUM CHECK: Mayor Sippel, Councilmembers Smith, Wiederstein, Thurman, Nirider,
Swenson. Police Chief Jeronimo Marin, & Secretary B. Glenewinkel.
3 . INVOCATION: Bill Wiederstein
4. MI11UTES: Bill Wiederstein (Marge Smith) moved the minutes of the February
7 meeting be approved. All approved.
5. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD:
Mr. Chuck Parnell and Mr. Larry Brockman of the Cibolo Valley Jay-
cees attended the council meeting to publicize their new business
to be opened soon. The business is Cibolo Valley BMX (bicycle
moto-cross) track to be located adjacent to the Cibolo State Bank.
The track events are open to kids age 5-16; 20" bikes are used;
no motors on bikes; No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on
premises; and a concession stand on premises . They plan to have
grand opening during Fiesta week as a scheduled fiesta event;
possibly April 15. Mr. Parnell and Mr. Brockman showed a video
tape of the National Moto-Cross Races held in Las Vegas . The
council expressed their appreciation to them for attending the
council meeting to present their new business to them.
6. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Homes in Four Leaf Park Subdivision
Bill WiedersteinMarge Smith) made a motion to grant a variance
to the subdivision to C._T._:_Vsu;han of Vaughan Crest Homes as follows
a) 60' wd lots instead of 70' as required
b) 5' -wd side yards instead of 6' as required
c) 50' street right of way instead of 60' as required
All approved.
7. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Traffic Ordinance Amendment
Sig Swenson Gerald Thurman) moved the ordinances amending the
traffic ordinance be approved as read; that an amendment to the
ordinance establishing weights and measures on Main St . be written
and all amendments be published enmasse. All approved.
B. Sig Swenson (Marge Smith) moved the sins and pipe for the new
traffic signs be ordered. All approved.
C. Massae Parlor Restriction Ordinance
Sig Swenson (Josie Nirdier) moved the ordinance restricting the
managing of massage parlor businesses in Cibolo City Limists be
approved. All approved.
D. The council agreed to have a dog registration at the Cibolo' Grange
Hall on March 22, 1980 at 1:30 p.m. in conjunction with ,,-he Grange
Vaccination Drive.
E. The Regional TransportationStudy Group was discussed concerning a
questio naire received by Bill Wiederstein.
F. The possibility of a Flea Market at the Park this year was discussed
with no decision made at this meeting.
G. The council agreed to again provide a space for the school board
election to be held on April 5, in the City Hall. Superintendent
.NaUs has requested permission to use City Hall as in the past.
8. BILLS TO BE APPROVED:
Marge Smith (Sig Swenson) moved the bills be approved for payment.
All approved.
9. ADJOURNMENT: The council meeting adjo urndd at 10:00 p.m. to go into executive
session.
