1 . CALL TO ORDER: 7:00 p.m. Mayor John A. Sippel
2. QUORUM CHECK: Mayor John A. Sippel, Councilmembers Nirider, Smith,
Thurman, Swenson, Wiederstein; Chief of Police
Jeronimo Marin, Jr., City Secretary Barbara L.
Glenewinkel and City Clerk Iva Amacker.
3. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD: None
4. INVOCATION: Bill Wiederstein
5. MINUTES: Bill Wiederstein (Marge Smith) moved the minutes of
August 21 , 1980, meeting be approved. All Approved.
6. OLD BUSINESS: A. Josie Nirider inquired as to the progress on the
dog situation. Chief Marin stated that he had taken
several dogs to the pound. The contract between
Animal Control Officer (Schertz) and City of Cibolo
is being held in abeyance until Schertz gets its
animal control facilities better organized.
B. Councilmember Thurman reported that our lawnmower
has been repaired at a cost of $20.00. This is a
stop-gap procedure and more extensive repairs will
be necessary at a later date.
C. Mayor Sippel reported that all fire plugs have
been checked and are operational.
7. NEW BUSINESS: A. Mayor Sippel discussed the fact that the City of
Cibolo has not had an attorney for some time . He
read a letter from Mr. John A. Hrncirn�.greefing t
re6resent the City of Cibolo ash%tyW9,! oLt
Prosecutor on an "as needed" basis . Mr. Hrncir was
introducted to the Councilmembers . He gave a short
resumb stating that he was born in Taylor, Texas,
and attended St . Mary's University. He is presently
a member of the law firm Adams, Flake and Hrncir.
Sig Swenson (Bill Wiederstein) moved that we hire
Mr. Hrncir as City Attorney and Court Prosecutor
on an "as needed" basis . All approved.
B. Six Leaf Park Subdivision was discussed. Width of alley
was a matter of discussion and possible drainage
problems . Chief Marin wanted to know if contractor
could be made responsible for putting up street signs .
The matter will be investigated.
C. Councilmembers are to notify City Secretary as to
whether they will attend TML meeting in Seguin.
D. Mayor Sippel read letter from TML concerning Revenue
Sharing Re-enactment .
E. Councilmember Swenson requested that Greg Russell's
work sheets be shown to council at each meeting and that
salaries of other city employees be shown on bills
to be paid.
8. BILLS TO BE APPROVED: Marge Smith (Josie Nirider) moved the bills be
approved for payment. All approved.
9. ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. Executive session
followed.
