1. CALL TO ORDER: 7:00 p.m. Mayor Ling
2. INVOCATION: Mayor Ed Ling
3. QUORUM CHECK: Mayor Ling, Councilmembers: Nirider, Smith, Niemietz, & .Swenson;
Asst Iva Amacker; Jeronimo Marin,Jr. Chief of Police and Barbara
Glenewinkel, City Sec.
4. MINUTES: The minutes of the June 18, 1981 Council Meetingwere approved as read.
5. OLD BUSINESS: A.Drainage problems in the Green Valley Trailer Park and along
Country Lane were discussed with County Commissinner Malford
Ackermann. Ms. Kitty Armstrong, a resident on the Southeast part
of the trailer prk came to the meeting to request something be
done to alleviate the flood water in heryard and under her -
trailer. Mr. Ackermann believes the excessive water is partly
due to the paving of Timber Tech, Inc. located on F.M. 78 with
the rear gate on Country Lane. Green Valley Drive, a- street in
the trailer park is adjacent to the rear gate of Timmer Tech.
It was decided to ask the Soil Conservation Service to do a
study of the area to help determine the best possible solution
to the problem.
B.Water Line Expansion was again discussed. Mayor Ling gave an
update on his meeting with Mr. Ederlen of Farmers Home Administrat-
ion (District Office) in Seguin. Mr. Ederlen suggested the city
fill out pre-application forms. This involves a possbile 2 year
waiting period. In the meantime, Mayor Ling will talk with the
city engineer, and Green Valley Water Co. and the City of Schertz.
payor Ling discussed having Garcia & Wright fill out the forms
for the city.
1. Fred Niemietz (Jo Nirider) made a motion the city contact
Garcia and Wright about filling out the Farmers Home Adm. forms
for the city. All approved.
2. Marge Smith (Fred Niemietz) made a motion the city engage
Garcia & Wright to update the March 1980 Water & Sewer Expansion
survey. All approved.
C.The city clean up day was again discussed.
Sig Swenson (Jo Nirider) moved the city set Saturday, August 8
as City Clean Up day with -the hours being 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Motion was approved with Fred Niemietz voting against the motion.
D.Chief Marin gave a report on the septic tank complaint against
Charles Mulkey. He reported the tank seems to be filled in and
there was no odor coming-from it.
E.Mayor Ling and Councilmember Fred Niemietz (Park Dept.) signed
the Summer Day Camp agreement.
6. BILLS TO BE APPROVED: Jo Nirider (Marge Smith) moved the bills be approved
for payment. All approved.
7. ADJOURNMENT: 8:00 p.m.
