JANUARY 3, 1983
1 . Call to Order: 7:02 Mayor Ling

Jo Nirider, Marge Smith, Fred Niemietz, Bill Little
(Sig Swenson - Absent) ; Chief of Police L. D. Vanscoy;
City Secretary Iva R. Amacker
4. BUSINESS AT HAND:
A. Proposed Police Ordinance was reviewed. No changes were
recommended.
B. Mr. Brooks explained that he was to attend a meeting in Kirby on
Tuesday night concerning our city's participation in Suburban Day
at S.A. Livestock Show . Lewis Borgfeld will help in planning
display.
C. Possible nominees to Guadalupe County Appraisal Board were
discussed. The following nominees were discussed: Mike Lawler,
present incumbent; Betty Gilmore, nominated by Marge Smith and
Nell Funk, nominated by Bill Little . Final nomination will rest
with selection of School District and Schertz nominees .
D. Pete Darnell, Darnell Estates, appeared to discuss purchasing city
water . He had hand drawn plans that had tentatively been approved
as far as materials are concerned by Mr. W. H. Mullins . The number
of fire hydrants is the responsibility of the city. The city
agreed to supply one fire hydrant. Mr. Little, City Fire Marshall,
will confer with Mr. Darnell as to number of fire hydrants required.
E. Mr. Little requested that Mr. Brooks get an opinion from our City
Attorney as to legality of placing city legal notices in our local
Herald Newspaper.
F. Mr. Brooks to attend meeting in Schertz regarding plat of proposed
new development in North Cliff subdivision located within the ETJ
of the City of Cibolo . It was the consensus of opinion that the
development in North Cliff would not be a good subject for
annexation at this time due to the huge debts incurred by North
Cliff utility district .
G. C.C .M.A. is planning a rate increase from 940/1000 gal. to $1 .12/1 ,000
gal. Mr. Brooks explained that he was of the opinion that our
present rates are sufficiently high and we probably would not have to
increase our charges.
H. Insurance will take care of damages to our police car.
