2. INVOCATION: Mayor Ling
3. ROLL CALL-L Mayor Ling; City Administrator Tommy Brooks; Councilmembers:
Jo Nirider, Marge Smith, Fred Niemietz, Sig Swenson and
Bill Little; City Secretary Iva R. Amacker
4. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD: None
5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Jo Nirider (Marge Smith) moved that minutes of
March 3, 1983 Meeting be approved. All approved.
6. MINUTES TO BE APPROVED: Marge Smith (Sig Swenson) moved bills be
approved for payment. All approved.
7. NEW BUSINESS:
A. PROCLAMATION - Youth Art Month
Mayor Ling read proclamation declaring March Youth Art Month.
B. APPROVAL ELECTION BALLOTS
The ballots presented were incorrect. No action was taken.

C- FM 78 BY-PASS
Mr. Ehlers of Texas State Highway Dept appeared and presented drawings of
proposed FM 78 By-Pass. The Council was informed that there was a new
state law which would pay 90 percent and the city 10 percent on
some road improvements. Jo ,Nirider (Marge Smith) moved that resolution
to proceed with FM 78 By-Pass be tabled until more research can be done.
Nirider and Smith voted "AYE',
Swenson voted "NAE"
Little and Niemietz Abstained.
D. SIGN - CITY HALL
Mr. Donald Cale had sign constructed in front of City Hall. He has
requested that he be given one months rent as payment for sign.
Fred Niemietz (Marge Smith) made motion that Mr. Donald Cale be allowed
to substitute one months rent for price of construction of sign.
All approved.
E. ANNEXATION
The Council authorized Mr. Brooks to proceed with Annexation plans.
8. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pursuant to provisions of Article 6252-17, Sec 2(g),.
RECONVENE: Marge Smith (Fred Niemietz) made motion to approve salary
increase for City Judge in the amount proposed by the
City Administrator. All approved.
