4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Fred Niemietz (Sig Swenson) moved minutes of
March 17, 1983 Regular City Council Meeting
be approved. All approved.
5. BILLS TO BE APPROVED: Marge Smith (Jo Nirider) moved bills be approved for
payment. All approved.
6. OLD BUSINESS: None
7. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Ballot,s
City Secretary informed Council that 300 ballots were ordered.
Twenty five ballots were set aside for absentee voting. Twenty
two :;ebsentee votes were received - one ballot was mutilated
a and two were turned over to election judge. Election judge counted
remaining ballots and found them in order.
B. Convam of Election Results
Sig Sgenson (Fred Niemietz) moved that Order Declaring Result of
Election be approved. All approved. (Order attached)
C. Administering Oath of Office
(1) Mayor Ed ping administered Oath of Office to Bill Little.

-(2) Mayor Bill Little administered Oath of Offize to Council-
members Fred Niemietz and Dannie Bishop.
D. Presentation of Plaques
Mayor Little presented plaque to former Mayor Ed Ling in
appreciation of his service to the city for the period 1981
to 1983.
Plaque was presented to former councilman Sig Swenson in
appreciation of his service,--;fram 1977 to 1983.

and the following absent: None , constituting a quorum, and among
other proceedings had were the following:
Alderman/Commissioner' Sig Swenson introduced a resolution and order
and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Alderman/Commissioner' Fred Niemietz
and the motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by the following vote,

The resolution is as follows:
There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 2nd day of APril 19 83
for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from said returns, duly and
legally made, that there were cast at said election 176 valid and legal votes; that each of the
candidates in said election received the following votes:'

That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and that
said election was held in accordance with law, and that William-Little was duly
elected Mayor of said City at said election2 and Dannie Bishop- and Fred Niemietz
were duly elected Aldermen/Commissioners i-of said City at said election, and that

said above named parties are hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject,jo the
taking of their oaths and filing bond as.provided by the laws of the State of Texas. - -
It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this governing_body the
Secretary/Clerk' posted written notice of the date, place and subject of this meeting ori-the-bulletin- board
located in the City Hall, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public, and said notice having-
been so posted and remaining posted continuously for at least 12 hours preceding the scheduled time of .
said meeting. A copy of the return of said posting shall be attached-to the minutes of this meeting and shall
be made a part thereof for all intents-and purposes.
