MAYOR LITTLE CALLED TO ORDER THE JOINT PUBLIC ZONING HEARING. CITY COUNCIL: PLANNING & ZONING: WIEDERSTEIN PRESENT: BILL PRESENT: JEFF MILLER, CHAIRMAN FRED NIEMIETZ A. J. GADDIS, CONSULTING ENGINEER FOR THE DEVELOPER, HAGCO BUILDING SUSTEMS, INC. **2. LISTEN TO COMMENTS CONCERNING A REQUEST BY THE HAGCO BUILDING SYSTEMS, INC. TO ESTABLISH COMMERCIAL (C ) ZONING FOR 489 FEET FRONTING FM 1103 X 250 FEET DEEP AND SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONING ( R-2 ) FOR THE BALANCE OF TOTAL OF 19 . 84 ACRES. MR. C . P. VAUGHAN, OF VAUGHAN HOMES, ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING DRAINAGE PROBLEM, STARTING DATE, R-2 ZONING, AND IF THERE WERE ANY REQUESTS FOR VARIANCES. MR. JEFF MILLER QUESTIONED WHAT TYPE HOMES. MAYOR LITTLE PRESENTED THE PLAT WHICH HAD BEEN APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL TO SHOW THE PROPERTY UNDER DISCUSSION FOR ZONING. HE STATED THAT THE DEVELOPER HAD ADVISED HIM fil&DUCOTEDTATTNS WITH PRESENTTHE FORSANTHERN EASEMENTIFIC RAILROAD FOR DRAINAGE. TRE HE STARTING DATE WILL DEPEND UPON SOLVING THE DRAINAGE PROBLEM. MAYOR LITTLE ALSO STATED THAT NO VARIANCE HAD BEEN REQUESTED NOR HAD ANY BEEN GRANTED BY THE COUNCIL. MAYOR LITTLE ADVISED THAT THE R-2 ZONING WAS FOR SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, THE SAME AS GRANTED TO VAUGHAN� HOMES. MAYOR LITTLE ADVISED THAT THE EXACT TYPE OF HOUSES WAS NOT DESCRIBED, BUT THAT THE DEVELOPER HAD SAID THE PRICE RANGE WOULD START IN THE HIGH $50 , 000 ' s TO THE LOW $60, 000 ' s . MAYOR LITTLE ADVISED THAT THE PRELIMINARY PILAT WHICH _THE COUNCIL APPROVED SHOWED A THROUGH-STREET FOR ACCESS TO THE ADJOINING PROPERTY. MR. GADDIS ADVI.SED__THAT THE DEVELOPER WAS N'OT ONLY IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE RAILROAD, BUT WAS ALSO NEGOTIATING WITH SCHNEIDER INDUSTRIAL T44k-: OWNERS WITH REGARD TO AN EASEMENT FOR SEWERAGE, WHICH WOULD BE SOME TYPE OF GRAVITY SYSTEM. NO OTHER CITIZENS APPEARED WITH REQUEST TO BE HEARD. 3. COMMENTS BY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION. NONE. 4 . COMMENTS BY MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. NONE. 5. ADJOURNMENT. Steele, Jr. , Superintendent ( /� Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD RE: Rezoning Hearing for 205 Seguin Road DATE: September 24, 1985 The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District does not wish at this time to protest the rezoning request from single family to commercial zoning on 205 Seguin Road. In the event that Seguin Road is rezoned commercial , it is important that the City Council insure that sufficient parking space be provided by the commer- cial owner. Taxpayers of the district should not be required to maintain parking areas utilized by an overflow of vehicular traffic at a --private busi- ness adjoining the school property.
