MINUTES OF REGULAR -CITY COUNCIL MEETING
OF
TUESDAY, MAY 2, 1989
THE CIBOLO CITY COUNCIL CONVENED IN A REGULARLY SCHEDULED
CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON TUESDAY, MAY 2, 1989 AT 7:00 P.M. AT
THE CIBOLO MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 109 SOUTH MAIN STREET, CIBOLO,
TEXAS. THE FOLLOWING ACTION WAS TAKEN:
1. CALL TO ORDER.
Mayor ' Bauder called the meeting to order at 7 :05 P.M.
2. INVOCATION.
Council Member Bob Glisar presented the invocation.
3. ROLL CALL.
Members present : Mayor Bauder, Tex Farnsworth, Jeff
Miller and Bob Glisar. Absent : Billie Little and Tino
Delgado. Staff present : David Walker and Ann Smith.
4. CITIZENS TO -BE HEARD.
Steve Simonson, President , of the Cibolo Valley
Alcohol/Drug Abuse Council presented a copy of their
by-laws and information on their new location, 207 F.M .
78. Mr. Simonson explained their programs . The
Council extended a welcome and pledged their support.
5. CONSENSUS ITEMS:
A. MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING, APRIL 18, 1989.
B. CHECK REGISTER AS OF APRIL 30, 1989.
Jeff Miller (Tex Farnsworth seconded) motioned to
approve as presented. All approved. Motion carried.
6. APPROVAL/DISAPPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION FROM P & Z
COMMITTEE FOR APPROVAL OF PLAT ON TOWN CREEK SOUTH,
UNIT ONE SUBDIVISION, DEVELOPER LEWIS BORGFELD.
Tex Farnsworth (Bob Glisar seconded) motioned to
approve the plat . After discussion, the motion was
amended to read "approval with compliance of current
Subdivision Ordinance, mainly sidewalk construction.
All approved the amended motion by Mr. Farnsworth.
Moti-on carried.
7. COMMENTS BY COUNCIL MEMBERS.
Tex Farnsworth ask if the staff could check with the
State Highway Department for counters to be placed at
FM 1103 and Main Street to see if a 4-way Stop or 2-way
Stop could be installed.
Bob Glisar expressed that he was not in favor of
- ' support of -horse racing at Ratama; therefore, he could
not support the "derby days celebration" .
Jeff' Miller ask if the Council would be in favor of
forming a committee to beautify designated areas with
.spring flowers , such as bluebonnets.

8. COMMENTS BY STAFF.

David Walker advised the Council that the "map project"
by the Metrocom Chamber of Commerce had been revised
and the price has been reduced so that Cibolo ' s portion
is $150.00. Maps should be ready soon.
David announced that the Military Appreciation Day golf
tournament would be June 2nd.
9. COMMENTS BY MAYOR.
Mayor Bauder read a letter from Cibolo Creek Municipal
Authority dated May 1, 1989 . The Board of Directors of
the COMA approved extending the 1987788 rates for an
additional twelve months due to dry months this past
year. The Board felt that water was not returned to
the sewer therefore granted to base consumption on
previous years useage. This resulted in an approximate
$400 savings during April , 1989.
Mayor Bauder also informed the Council that the U.S.
Post Office construction bid was let on April 17 , 1989
to Seiler Construction of Leming, Texas.
Other noted items were: Letter from Cibolo Valley VFW
Post to participate in the Schertz 4th of July parade,
set date for special meeting to canvass election
results on Tuesday, May 9th at 7 :00 P.M. , and announced
that Saturday, May 6th the "Derby Day at the Retama"
and the MDA Chicken Flip at the Bluebonnet.
10. ADJOURNMENT.
