1. Call to Order
Ms. McDaniel called the meeting to order at 6:32p.m.
2. Roll Call and Excused Absences
Members present: Shari McDaniel, Tammi Lambert, Emma Hubbard, Dr. Emmanuel
Msengi, Chris Beach, and Carrie Knapp. Members absent: Kim Namocatcat. Ms. Hubbard
made the motion to excuse Ms. Namocatcat's absence. Motion was seconded by Ms.
Lambert. For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 6 to 0.
3. Moment of Silence/Invocation
All in attendance observed a moment of silence.
4. Pledge of Allegiance
All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
5. Citizens to be Heard
No one signed up for Citizens to be Heard.
6. Consent Agenda
Ms. Knapp made the motion to approve the minutes from the March 4, 2026, meeting.
Motion was seconded by Ms. Hubbard. For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 6 to 0.
6.A. Approval of the minutes from the March 4, 2026, meeting.
7. Staff Updates
7.A. Ron Pedde Community Garden Update (Chris Beach)
Ms. Beach gave an update on the Plant Sale on Saturday, April 18, 9a.m.-4p.m. Where they
will have vendors, kids' stations, and be selling plants.
7.B. Veterans/Niemietz Park Improvements Project Presentation moved to the April 14
City Council Agenda (Ms. Hernandez)
Ms. Hernandez notified the commission that the Veterans/Niemietz Park Improvements
Project Presentation was moved to the April 14 Council meeting agenda.
7.C. Schlather Park repair updates (Ms. Hernandez)
Ms. Hernandez updated the commission on Schlather Park updates to include installation
of poles and frames and that the water fountain is now functional.
8. Discussion/Action
8.A. Define the scope of workfor the Parks and Recreation Commission Ordinance
Review
Workshop (tentatively scheduled for May 7th)
The Parks Workshop will be scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 6p.m.-8p.m.
8.6. Disc Golf Tournament at Schlather Park
The Disc Golf Tournament will be Saturday, April 18 at Schlather Park and Buffalo Crossing
HOA property and will include food trucks and a DJ.
8.C. Parks Commission Nametags/New Shirts
Staff will order name tags for the commission members and return with shirt options for
new shirts for the commission.
8.D. Scope of Work for the Parks Master Plan
Ms. Hernandez discussed the process for the Parks Master Plan to the commission.
9. Set a Date and Time for Next Meeting
9.A. May 6, 2026

Ms. Beach made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:03p.m. Motion was seconded by Ms.
Hubbard. For: All; Against: None. Motion carried 6 to 0.
