RES 1037 07/21/1977A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN "911" EMERGENCY SERVICE The City SpA of Cibolo endorses the establishment of a 911 Uniform Emergency Telephone N unber within the San Antonio Metropolitan Exchange, and agrees to abide by the conditions established by the Alamo Area Council of Government Executive Committee as follows: 1. 911 service is contingent upon the continuing participation of the endorsee as well as that of Bexar County and all incorporated cities within the San Antonio Metropolitan Telephone Exchange. 2. The City of San Antonio will act as the subscriber for 911 service. The City of San Antonio as subscriber will be responsible for initiating the order for 911 service with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Such service shall be implemented within twenty four (24) months from the date of the order. The City of San Antonio will be responsible for paying all costs related to 911 service, including but not limited to equipment, service and connection charges due Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and salaries and associated expenses incurred by the subscriber. All participants will reimburse the City of San Antonio for their proportionate share of expenses determined on a per capita basis. Future changes or revisions substantially affecting the service will require the prior approval of a committee to be appointed by the ALAMO AREA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE ODWITTEE. 3. The San Antonio Police Department will be the communications center to serve as the answering point and dispatcher for 911 service in the San Antonio Metropolitan Telephone Exchange. Upon establishment of 911 service the City A5DDQpMRtr of Cibolo will accept relayed messages from the communications center and respond in accordance with the established ordinances and policies of the City &UMAW of Cibolo This endorsement and acceptance of 911 service is contingent upon the continuing recognition of each autonomous city's responsibility for dispatching and controlling the emergency departments within its incorporated boundaries, and that the establishment of 911 service does not replace any previously established means for summoning the emergency assistance that may now be in effect or implemented at some future date.
