FOR ADOPTION OF THE
INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO ESTABLISHING THE MINIMUM REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE CONDITIONS AND
MAINTENANCE OF ALL PROPERTY, BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES; BY PROVIDING THE STANDARDS FOR SUPPLIED UTILITIES AND
FACILITIES AND OTHER PHYSICAL THINGS AND CONDITIONS ESSENTIAL TO ENSURE THAT STRUCTURES ARE SAFE, SANITARY AND
FIT FOR OCCUPATION AND USE; AND THE CONDEMNATION OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES UNFIT FOR HUMAN OCCUPANCY AND
USE AND THE DEMOLITION OF SUCH STRUCTURES; KNOWN AS THE FUEL GAS CODE.
The Mayor and City Council of the City of Cibolo ordains as follows:
Section 1. That a certain document, is on file in the office of the Code Enforcement Officer of the City of
Cibolo, being marked and designated as the International Fuel Gas Code as published by the International
Code Council, hic., be and is hereby adopted as the International Fuel Gas Code of the City Of Cibolo, in the
State of Texas; for the control of building and structures as herein provided; and each an all of the regulations,
provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said International Fuel Gas Code are hereby referred to, adopted,
and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this ordinance, with the additions, insertions, deletions and
changes, if any, prescribed in Section 2 of this ordinance.
Section 2. The following sections are hereby revised:
101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Fuel Gas Code of City Of Cibolo,
hereinafter referred to as "this code."
107.2.3 Reinspection and testing. Where any work or installation does not pass an initial test or
inspection, the necessary corrections shall be made so as to achieve compliance with this
code. The work or installation shall then be resubmitted to the code official for inspection
and testing. Fee for Reinspection. If it becomes necessary to make a reinspection of a fuel
gas system, the installer of such equipment shall pay a reinspection fee as follows
a. For first re-inspection...................................................... $35.00
b. For each additional re -inspection thereafter..............................$50.00
108.2 Schedule of permit fees. On buildings, structures, electrical, gas, mechanical, and plumbing
systems or alterations requiring a permit, a fee for each permit shall be paid as required, in
accordance with the schedule as established by the applicable governing authority.
1. For issuing each permit ...................................................

a. For each gas system or fixture as follows:
(1) Water heater...............................................................$5.00
(2) For installation, alteration or repair of gas piping system ....... $5.00
A. Plus for each outlet........................................$2.50
(3) Plumbing system pressure test........................................$5.00
Violation penalties. Persons who shall violate a provision of this code or shall fail to comply with -
any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, install, alter, repair or do work in violation of
the approved construction documents or directive of the code official, or of a permit or certificate
used under provisions of this code, shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine
of not more than $500.00 dollars. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been
served shall be deemed a separate offense.
Failure to comply. Any person who shall continue any work after having been served with a stop
work order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe
condition, shall be liable to a fine of not less than $100.00 dollars or more than $500.00 dollars.
Section 3. That nothing in this ordinance or in the International Fuel Gas Code hereby adopted, shall be
construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incur -red,
or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in
Section 2 of this ordinance; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or
affected by this ordinance.
Section 4. That Ordinance Number 507 of the City Of Cibolo entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT
VARIOUS STANDARD CODES RELATING TO INSPECTION ACTIVITIES OF CIBOLO AND
ENFORCEMENT OF BUILDING PROVISIONS AS PROVIDED IN SAID CODES" and all other ordinances
or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. That the City Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance, and cause the same to be
published as required by law; and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its approval as
required by law.
Section 6. That this ordinance and the rules, regulations, provisions, requirements, orders and matters
established and adopted hereby shall take effect and be in full force and effect beginning October 1, 2001.
