AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO,
BASED ON AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF
GUADALUPE, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ESTABLISH SCHOOL ZONES,
SPEED LIMITS AND TIMES, TRAFFIC CONTROLS, AND PARKING
REGULATIONS ON THE COUNTY ROADS OF DIETZ ROAD, BORGFELD
ROAD, AND TOWN CREEK ROAD, PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT,
PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS, AND SETTING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE, AND TAKING PRECEDENCE OVER CERTAIN
SCHOOL ZONES ESTABISHED IN ORDINANCE #492.
WHEREAS, the County of Guadalupe has passed a Resolution authorizing the City of Cibolo to
regulate and enforce traffic flow and speed on the County roads of Dietz Road and Town Creek
Road, and will act to amend that Resolution to add the County road of Borgfeld Road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Cibolo has resolved to accept the County Resolution subject to the
County amendment adding Borgfeld Road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Cibolo desires to ensure and protect the safety and welfare of its citizens
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS THAT:
The City of Cibolo accepts the authority to set, post, regulate, and enforce any and all
laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances, including school zones, on the County roads of
Dietz Road, Borgfeld Road, and Town Creek Road.
2. A School Zone is established at the intersection of Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road,
continuing from said intersection northwest on Dietz Road to the intersection of Dietz
Road and Deer Meadow, there continuing southwest on Dietz Road to a point at the east
end of the bridge 400 feet from FM3009, and also extending north on Deer Meadow to its
intersection with Fawn Ridge.
3. A School Zone is established at the intersection of Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road,
continuing from said intersection in a northeast direction on Borgfeld Road to a point 450
feet east of the intersection of Thistle Creek Drive and Borgfeld Road.
4. School Crossings are established at the following locations:
a. Across Dietz Road at its intersection with Borgfeld Road.
b. Across Spice Oak Lane at its intersection with Dietz Road.
c. Across Dietz Road at its intersection with Town Gate Drive.
d. Across Deer Meadow at its intersection with Dietz Road.
e. Across Dietz Road at its intersection with Parkfair Gate.
5. A maximum speed limit of twenty miles per hour is established for all school zones on
the County roads of Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road, and must be strictly observed. The
effective hours of the School Zone are 7:30 A.M. until 9:00 A.M. and from 2:30 P.M.
until 4:00 P.M. on school days only.

6. A maximum speed limit of thirty miles per hour is established on all portions of Dietz
Road not otherwise designated, and must be strictly observed.
7. A maximum speed limit of thirty-five miles per hour is established on all portions of
Borgfeld Road not otherwise designated, and must be strictly observed.
8. A maximum speed limit of thirty-five miles per hour is established on all of Town Creek
Road and must be strictly observed.
9. A three-way stop is established at the intersection of Dietz Road and Deer Meadow
requiring all vehicles to come to a complete stop at the intersection.
10. A No Parking At Any Time Zone is established at the intersection of Dietz Road and
Borgfeld Road, there continuing northwest from said intersection on both sides of Dietz
Road to the intersection of Dietz Road and Deer Meadow, there continuing southwest on
both sides of Dietz Road to a point at the east end of the bridge 400 feet from FM3009.
11. Any violation of this ordinance shall be a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, carry a fine
of not less than twenty-five ($25.00) dollars or more than two hundred ($200.00) dollars
for each violation thereof.
12. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after final passage and approval
of the City Council of the City of Cibolo, pending the amendment of the Guadalupe
County Resolution adding the County road of Borgfeld Road. This ordinance takes
precedence over certain provisions of City of Cibolo Ordinance 9492.
