A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS, OPPOSING HOUSE
BILL 1246 AND SENATE BILL 369 FOR THE STATE OF TEXAS EIGHTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATIVE
SESSION.
WHEREAS, the State of Texas eighty-eighth legislative session began January 10, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature for the State of Texas meets every other year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest to provide clear and united legislative direction
so that critical functions of the city are not impaired or encumbered by proposed legislation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council opposes House Bill 1246 and Senate Bill 369 relating to disannexation of certain
areas that do not receive full municipal services;
WHEREAS, the City of Cibolo provides full police and fire protection municipal services to properties located
within the city limits;
WHEREAS, the City offers solid waste services by contract to properties located within the city limits;
WHEREAS, the City of Cibolo provides municipal water and wastewater services where it is the provider based
on need and maintains a capital improvement plan to service properties;
WHEREAS, the city provides operation and maintenance of roads and streets along with a capital improvement
plan for within the city limits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cibolo, Texas, to:
Approve a resolution of the City of Cibolo opposing House Bill 1246 and Senate Bill 369 for the State of Texas
Eighty -Eighth Legislative session.
