1. Call to Order.
Stosh Boyle called the meeting to order at 6:07 pm.

4. Pledge of Allegiance.
All rose and recited the pledge of allegiance.
5. Citizens to be Heard:
This is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the Parks and Recreation Commission on any issue. Parks
and Recreation Commission may not debate any non -agenda issue, nor may any Recommendation be taken on
any non -agenda issue at this time however the Parks and Recreation Commission may present any factual
response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion — JC 0169) (Limit of three minutes each).
THIS IS THE ONLY TEVIE FOR CHTIZENS TO SPEAK TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISION.
Melvin Hicks -119 Apache Circle- Spoke about every child in Cibolo deserves the opportunity
to participate in sports in Cibolo.
6. Approval/Disapproval of the minutes from the February 4, 2015 meeting.
Ed Weinstein made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 4, 2015 meeting. Glenn Weber
seconded the motion. All in favor none opposed. Motion passed 7-0.
7. Presentation/Discussion from the Spartans Sport Program on expanding their Sport Program.
The Spartan Sport Program presentation will be tabled until the next meeting.
8. Discussion on pricing and feasibility for exercise equipment to be placed near walking paths.
Slosh Boyle asked staff to research the feasibility for having exercise equipment placed near walking
paths: Tim Fousse will research this topic and it will be brought back next month. City of Windcrest
has a park with exercise equipment near walking paths.
9. Discussion/Direction on naming of the Multi -Event Center.
Mayor Pro -Tem Jay Hogue would like the process of naming the Multi -Event Center to start. Parks
and Recreation Commission start the process with their recommendations being passed to the next
part of the process, the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Parks and Recreation Commission
would like clarification from the City Council before starting the process.
10. Discussion/Action of the Parks and Recreation Committee's 2015 Events:
a. Easter Egg Hunt- April 01, 2015- POC Don Downey
Glenn Gonzalez will return the bunny suit to Stosh Boyle. The commission discussed the event flyer,
age groups and start times, and finding an Easter bunny volunteer. The candy eggs have been ordered
and the Easter props will be set up for a picture area like last year.
b. Food Truck Round -Up, May 91h, 2015- POC Michael LaMonica
Michael LaMonica has been in contact with the Food Truck Organization —San Antonio. He is hoping
we will have approximately 10-15 food trucks available for this year's event. One concern was to let
the food truck vendors know to have enough products to sell this year. Many of the vendors ran out
last year, prompting the event to end early. The Kickball Tournament is scheduled for that day.
c. Memorial Day Ceremony, May 25, 2015 -POC Glenn Gonzalez
Glenn Gonzalez has been coordinating the Steele Color Guard, Dobie Choir, Miss Cibolo Pageant
Officials, and the Boy Scouts on participating at the 2015 Memorial Day Ceremony at Veteran's Park.
Glenn Gonzalez will ask Chief Niemietz if the Fire Dept. can cook the hot dogs for that event.
City will advertise the event on website, newsletter and flyers.
d. Disc Golf Tournaments -March. 28'h, Jun. 20'h, Aug. 15°i, Oct. 24 lb or Oct. 315', 2015 -POC Stosh Boyle
There is a Disc Golf Tournament scheduled on March 28, 2015, at Schlather Park. Derek with Let It
Fly Discs is working with Stosh Boyle on the planning and promoting this event.
11. Staff updates on
a. All City Parks -(Can Niemietz Park open earlier for walkers)
Tim Fousse explained that the gate at Niemietz Park opens at 8:00 am, when staff starts work. He did
mention he would speak to Chief Cox on possibly moving the gate back some off of FM 78, so
walkers could use the park. Update at the next meeting.
b. Niemietz Park Lighting
The lights have been ordered. Once the lights have been delivered, they will be installed as soon as
possible.
c. Baseball/ Softball Complex
The land has been purchased and the contracts filed with the City Secretary's office. Work on this
project is scheduled to start in approx. 30-45 days.
d. School -Community Center update
Project is progressing.

Ed Weinstein made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Christy Miller seconded the motion. All in favor,
none opposed. Motion passed 7 to 0. Meeting adjourned at 8:07 pm.
