Min P&Z 3/25/2013 Workshop^CITY OF CHDItY SPECIAL PLANNING AND ZONING WORKSHOP 200 S. Main, Cibolo, Texas 78108 March 25, 2013 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. A possible quorum of the City Council may attend the Planning and Zoning meeting. MINUTES Call to Order. Randy Anderson called the workshop to order at 5:30 pm. 2. Roll Call. Robert Stricker-DCDS Randy Anderson -Sr. Planner Lisa Gonzalez -Asst. Planner Sheila Edmondson- Asst. City Secretary Attended: Norma Mashburn -Planning and Zoning Bruce Winter -Planning and Zoning Tex Farnsworth- Planning and Zoning Jennifer Hartman -Mayor Steve Liparoto-Mayor Pro -Tern Karen Hale- Councilwoman Tim Fousse- Public Works Director 3. Citizens to be Heard: This is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the Planning and Zoning Commission on any issue. Planning and Zoning Commission may not debate any non -agenda issue, nor may any action be taken on any non -agenda issue at this time however the Planning and Zoning Commission may present any factual response to items brought up by citizens. (Attorney General Opinion — JC 0169) (Limit of five minutes each). None at this time. 4. The City of Cibolo will hold an Open House on Monday March 25, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. concerning the assignment of permanent zoning to properties annexed into Cibolo south of Lower Seguin Road in 2010 & 2011 and properties located in Cibolo Valley Ranch Unit 6C & Unit 8 in 2013. Randy Anderson explained the to the public that the city plans to permanently re -zone properties annexed into Cibolo south of Lower Seguin Road and properties located in Cibolo Valley Ranch Unit 6C and Unit 8. Some of the residents were concerned that the change in zoning would increase their taxes. Staff reassured them that they are free to utilize their property in the same manner in which they are now and the zoning change would not increase taxes. If the use of the property changed in the future, taxes could change then. The City of Cibolo is making an investment in this area of the city by adding water and sewer lines. This would help future developing in this area. Citizens used this time to ask questions and were informed that there would be public hearings in April on this subject.
