Min CC 06/29/1998 MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING THE CITY COUNCIL OF CIBOLO CONDUCTED A SPECIAL SCHEDULED MEETING ON MONDAY, JUNE 29, 1998 AT 12:00 NOON.AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING,109 SOUTH MAIN STREET, CIBOLO,TEXAS.THE FOLLOWING WAS THE ORDER OF BUSINESS: I. CALL TO ORDER. Meeting was called to order at 12 noon H. ROLL CALL. All councilmembers were present III. INVOCATION. Invocation was led by Bob Glisar IV. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. Pledge was led by Mayor Bauder V CITIZENS TO BE HEARD (LIMIT 3 MINUTES EACH) Andrew Tolle commented that he did not understand that with the deduction that were made, how the second bid is $3,000 higher than the first. No exact explanation as to what increase consists of possible with deductions and then changes,this led to difference. VI. DISCUSSION/ACTION ON AWARDING NIEMIETZ PARK BID Discussion on different line items. Council expressed disappointment and embarassment of receiving only one bid this time. Mayor Bauder and council believe that possibly the plans being revised and not completely available by time bids needed to be submited caused lack of interest in project. Also, expressed concern as to high costs of items. Realized that if this bid is not accepted,the time frame in which is left to finish this project(Feb.2, 1999) will expire before completion. Council discussed possibly separating out several items on bid, such as septic tank, to independent contractors. Mayor Bauder directed Keith Gilbreath to contact GVEC on possibility of running three phase wiring into park for connection to pavilion. Gail Douglas made motion to accept,minus the bid for temporary sign which is already there, seconded by Chuck Ridge. Motion passed VII. COMMENTS BY STAFF None VIII. COMMENTS BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Chuck Ridge asked as projected date of completion. Contractor has 120 days from day contract is signed to complete their part of project. IX COMMENTS BY MAYOR X.
